Summary (written by Grace):
This series is about a dog’s life being an A.L.O. (which means Animal Liaison Officer). The books are written in first person from the dog’s point of view. His name is Trump.
Going through troubles takes courage for this dog. He has his animal friends to help him along the way.
Marie’s Review (Mom): I didn’t actually read these books, but I skimmed one of them. I feel they are wholesome and well written, and felt comfortable letting the girls read them without me hovering over every page.
I appreciated the text boxes throughout that define words such as query position or diagnose. The end of each chapter contains another text box with Trump’s diagnosis regarding the problem in that chapter -although Grace did finally admit to me she didn’t read many of the boxes.
Grace’s Review (4th Grade): I loved reading these. I read all six books in three days. They were exciting and educational. I learned a lot about what vets do, and what an assistant would do too.
Little May (16 months) Translated By Grace: I like the pictures. I loved pointing to the pictures when my sister reads them.
Christian Friendly: Yes
Sensitive Readers: Very Mild Caution
In book six a puppy almost dies of dehydration. He couldn’t drink because the mother has too many pups.
